Our approach

  • Faith is the foundation of our Recovery Program utilizing the 12 Step approach. Step 2 and 3 of AA are build around the idea of believing in a power greater than ourselves and turning our lives over to the care of God as we understand Him. Those that are in search of Lasting Recovery must get this part right!

We all enter recovery with a different concept of God or our higher power. RECOVERU believes in the Bible and Jesus Christ. We offer many studies to help those in our program to grow spiritually. We also provide two faith based meetings a week for those that would like to participate. Both programs are in alignment and compliment with the 12 Steps.

We provide midweek studies for continued growth as well as transportation to Church on Sunday. You will meet a community of believers in Recovery which is essential through this journey. We will provide all the available resources to grow your faith and help you navigate some the challenging questions.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. -  Proverbs 3:5-6

  • A healthy lifestyle provides a clear mind for learning. Our staff is committed to getting you physically healthy while having lots of fun along the way. Our location, in the beautiful beach city of San Clemente, CA has allowed us to build our program around activities right in our own back yard. Weekly we offer programs that include Surfing, Paddle Boarding and Hiking. There is something about being in nature that keeps us connected to God’s creation while building a healthy body and mind.

Just as important as exercise, so it diet. What we put into our bodies is what fuels us. We will provide direction and recommendations on diet along with group dinners where healthy meals are made to taste good! During the time that our clients are at RECOVERU they will see a notable difference on how they look and feel, if they choose to put in the work.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. - 1 Corinthians 6:19-29

  • We provide a curriculum along with the necessary materials in order to grow in your understanding of Recovery. Our trained staff has been through the program and experienced everything our clients have. Everyone in our program will get a copy of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions (12 & 12), a Bible and a copy of the Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. We provide weekly trainings and a built-in network of meetings to guide you into learning to live a life of Sobriety.

We invest in our clients by providing educational training on how to create a resume, how to interview for a job and stay employed. A “get well job” is a big part of early recovery and we are there every step of the way.

We also offer a wide variety of Step Studies to build your knowledge of sobriety and our clinical counselors will provide clear direction in the development of each individual. Our clinical counseling staff understands addiction, and how it impacts the entire family unit. We have lived it and we can guide you to the road of forgiveness and freedom. We provide our clients a clear path on how to rebuild relationships, set boundaries and rebuilt trust. We also offer counseling to extended family members for a fee.

Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance - Proverbs 1:5

  • Cultivating Community is another key to Lasting Recovery. At RECOVERU we have a strong relationship with our community. We surround ourselves with those who have walked the journey before us and we learn to be of service to others. We offer many opportunities to be of service both in the program of Alcoholics Anonymous and in our community.

What our clients begin to understand, is, you don’t really get the gift of sobriety until you give it away. Relationships built during this time will be lasting. Being part of the community also means making a difference as our purpose is much bigger than just ourselves. Those who attend our programs will understand and experience the rewards of serving others.

You will put into practice our step work and understand the concepts of rebuilding relationships. We are made to be with others and RECOVERU provides a safe and healthy environment to grow in our community.

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. - Romans 12:16
